Management Buy-outs (MBOs) and Management Buy-ins (MBIs) are transactions which offer lots of potential to the incoming management team.

They are often a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the management of a company. An MBO takes place when a group of managers buys the business they work in from its existing owners. However, they will usually require financial backing from banks or venture capitalists.
