Paid Public Holidays

The annual holiday entitlement has increased. The entitlement is therefore as follows:

• From 1st October 2007: 20 days + 4 Bank Holidays
• From 1st April 2009: 20 days + 8 Bank Holidays

Where an employer already grants 28 days or more, there is no change.

National Minimum Wage

The increased rates for National Minimum Wage as from 1 October 2007 are:

• £5.52 an hour for workers aged 22 years and older
• £4.60 an hour for workers aged 18 to 21 inclusive
• £3.40 an hour for all workers under the age of 18 who are no longer of compulsory school age.
