High Flying Charlie Raises £1,500 For Keech Hospice
Charlie O’Brien, the 27 year old Marketing Manager at Pictons, completed her first ever skydive on Sunday May 12th and raised over £1,500 in aid of the company’s charity of the year, Keech Hospice. The 10,000ft daredevil experience took place on Sunday at Hinton nr Brackley in Northamptonshire at the Hinton Skydiving Centre.

From an early age Peggy Barnard knew she wanted a career in law. Born in Hemel Hempstead, where she still lives, Peggy began her legal studies by doing a legal practice ILEX (Institute of Legal Executives) course at weekends at Herts College. Pictons will be joining the revellers for the Leverstock Green Village Fete, which will be opened by local MP Mike Penning on Saturday 14th July at 2 pm on Westwick Field.
This is the second year that Pictons has participated in the Leverstock Green Village Fete and the company will be raising funds to support the running of the local village hall which is essential for village life. It is used by local groups for badminton, table tennis, keyboard, crafts and flower clubs, as well as an amateur theatre group and choir meetings. The local playgroup also uses the hall daily.

Kicking off our First Charity event for Keech!
Pictons first event to raise money for Keech was the Pictons Penalty Kings Schools Challenge, where a number of local schools battled it out to find their penalty shoot out champions while raising money for a great cause. The Challenge was launched in May at the William Austin Junior School in Luton and the school did their penalty shoot outs during Childrens’ Hospice Week, with participants dressed up as Superheroes, a traditional national event during the Hospice Week.

Cost cutting in Clinical Negligence funding – What Price Justice?
A programme focusing on clinical negligence and the implications of the Legal Aid Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill will be screened on ITV1 on Thursday 11th August 7:30pm- 8pm called "What Price Justice?”
The programme will feature interviews with Action Against Medical Accidents (AvMA) chief executive Peter Walsh, claimant clients, the National Health Service Litigation Authority (NHSLA) and both defendant and claimant solicitors.
Under the proposed Bill, the Government seeks to remove Legal Aid entirely for clinical negligence claims.
