The Coalition Government’s business initiative, to encourage growth and development throughout the country, has moved ahead with the Government’s approval of the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership proposal.
Roger Talbot, Hertfordshire IoD Committee Member and Pictons Managing Partner, has been invited to become a member of this organisation’s steering group, which includes key business people and local government executives from the South East Midlands region. Pictons, one of the foremost firms of solicitors in the region, has offices in Luton (Bedfordshire), Hemel Hempstead (Hertfordshire) and Milton Keynes (Buckinghamshire).
The steering group will effectively decide how the Local Enterprise Partnership will be constituted, what its terms of reference will be and how its board will be made up. Roger has been involved in a number of organisations promoting business growth, including a position as director and company secretary of the Bedfordshire and Luton Economic Development Partnership Limited (BLEDP).
Roger says “I am delighted to have been invited to join the LEP steering group. We are all aware of the challenges we face in both the public and private sectors and the formation of the business-sector-led LEP is a truly exciting development. The steering group aims to establish an organisation which will materially assist substantial growth and employment across the region.”
