Pictons has adventurous and generous staff. Five employees have volunteered to raise funds for the charity ReachOut Plus - by abseiling from the top of retailers Dixons in Maylands Avenue, on Sunday June 26th.

Jacqueline Webb, Partner and Head of Pictons commercial department says “We are so proud of our fundraisers, they are incredibly brave. As a company we are very supportive of the local community and we like to give as much support as we possibly can"
“ All of their colleagues from Hemel Hempstead and our offices in Luton and Milton Keynes are supporting them and we hope to raise a substantial sum through the brave efforts of our five heroic participants!”

ReachOut Plus is a charity which seeks to create opportunities that change people's lives. It works especially with young people and people with disabilities and particular disadvantages. It aims to support these special people to overcome exclusion and discrimination, develop their skills, broaden their experience and achieve their potential.
ReachOut have been working with Hertfordshire families for over 30 years and amongst their many projects they run a small fleet of specially equipped canal barges based in Kings Langley, volunteer circles of support aimed at the more able children, an educational centre and a residential learning centre in a beautiful converted 12th century church in Chellington.
“For many of these children, holding the tiller of a canal barge and manoeuvring it through a lock is the equivalent of driving a Formula 1 car at Brands Hatch,” says Victoria Scott Marketing Manager for ReachOut Plus. “The smiles, the giddy laughter and the overwhelming sense of achievement you see in their faces when on a ReachOut barge makes abseiling off a tall building in their support all the more worthwhile.”

The charity is looking for as many people as possible to abseil off the Dixons Building. If you’re up for a bit of fun and adventure, please come along and support them on 26th June. To sponsor our participants please visit www.justgiving.com/onebigdroppictons. There is still time for people to register for the abseil or they can sign up on the day.
