Pictons, joined forces with the Milton Keynes Hospital Little Lives Appeal and the Seal Dance Company to put on a brilliant show in Middleton Hall at centre MK on Thursday October 27th.
The idea for the fund raising event, entitled Legally Salsa, came from Pictons. Shoppers at the centre were invited to join in and learn a few sexy salsa moves from the professional dancers, or just sit and enjoy the performances. Fund raisers from the Little Lives Appeal, and a number of Pictons Milton Keynes staff, rattled tins and shook buckets and generous passers by helped them raise a grand total of £150!
Yvonne Hardiman, a Partner at Pictons says “I love salsa dancing and invited my dance club, the SEAL Academy, to join us. They were brilliant, and even put the event on Facebook so we had lots of excellent dancers. It was so much fun and I was exhausted by the end of the evening.
“ At 7pm we had a special Zumba class from the Red Hot Salsa company, which really got people excited and so many members of the public joined in. All in all, it was a great night”
Nigel Drake, also a Partner at Pictons Milton Keynes adds “I went along after work to offer my help and found myself learning a few moves on the dance floor. The teachers were very good and I think my wife would have been quite shocked to see me in action on a dance floor!”
Vanessa Holmes, fundraising manager of the Little Lives appeals concludes ” We are so grateful to Pictons for coming up with this idea and supporting us to make it happen. I’d also like to thank the Seal Dance Company and the management of Middleton Hall, who generously donated the space to us, with the lighting and sound systems. We really appreciate the help and support we get from all of our fund raisers, whether that’s other corporates or individuals. Legally Salsa also gave us a chance to raise our profile in a very busy public place, all of which helps us to achieve our target.”
