Pictons are joining forces with its charity of the year, Milton Keynes Hospital’s Little Lives Appeal, to host a fundraising ‘dance-a-thon’ event in Middleton Hall on Thursday 27 October between 5 and 8pm.

Middleton Hall, a prime location in central Milton Keynes, has generously been donated by thecentre:mk. Busy shoppers will have a chance to enjoy fabulous performances from the SEAL Dance Academy and learn a few sexy salsa moves themselves.

Volunteers from Pictons and the hospital will be using charity buckets to collect donations of loose change from shoppers, whilst also encouraging shoppers of all ages to have some fun and have a bit of a shake and wiggle.

Yvonne Hardiman is an HR consultant and Partner at Pictons. She says: “We have offices in Milton Keynes, Luton, Hemel Hempstead and Tring. Each year our staff vote for the charity they want to support and for 2011/2012 it’s the Little Lives Appeal.

“We’ve already raised a substantial sum and we came up with this idea because we’re all inspired by Strictly Come Dancing. I love to dance and my salsa club was more than happy to donate their time and expertise to help us with such a great cause. We hope our ‘Strictly Salsa’ fever will be catching and we’ll raise a lot of money on the day!”

Vanessa Holmes, Fundraising Manager at Milton Keynes Hospital is delighted with the support. She says: “Our appeal has been getting great support from lots of companies, including Pictons, and we loved this idea when they suggested it to us. We think the shoppers will love it too and we hope the music and dancing will create a real buzz throughout thecentre:mk, benefiting not only us but the retailers as well. We want to encourage as many people as possible to take part.

“We are very grateful to Pictons, thecentre:mk and the SEAL Dance Academy for giving us this opportunity and we hope to raise lots of money at the event.”
