Spinal injury can lead to damage to the discs and nerves in the back. It has many different causes including injury or trauma, tumour, cauda equina and wear and tear. Spinal injury can leave someone with significant disability including loss of sensation and numbness, pain, restricted mobility and loss of bowel and/or bladder function.
